I'm extremely glad that you found my Arwen version so pleasant to look at! Please come here for a hug...
I admit that I see the Princess as much more elegant, lighter and feminine than Liv (by 'feminine' I'm referring to her build, her general bone structure.). Before my mind's eye Arwen has an utterly different face as well.
I have used some watercolour, pencil, white gouache and black ball point pen. And thank you all for your lovely comments! This is, more or less, how I envision Arwen Undomiel. Quite differently from Liv.
It's nice seeing a unique take on Arwen. I myself was so young when the Lord of the Rings movies came out that I watched them before I read the books, so I always pictured her looking like Liv Tyler and have hardly ever seen artwork of her that isn't based on the movies. I think Liv was a great Arwen, but it's also really refreshing to see something different like this.
I immensely enjoyed doing this piece, because I had finally come upo a model who looked more or less like I imagined Arwen -- definitely her general build. Before my mind's eye the Princess has a gorgeous swan neck and an elegant light frame...
Thankfully I read the books first, which IMO means that I have a greater liberty of either leaning on my own mental image of a character, or on that created by a LOT actor, should I find the latter suitable. That variant seems to give one more varied options.
I loved the elegant and effortless way Liv managed to speak elvish (some people barely managed, LOL). But as to her looks, I will always imagine 'my Arwen'very differently from the movie one.
